Why choose an organic wine for your Christmas Table?
The holiday season is approaching… Decorations, the tree, gifts, the menu, and of course the wines are topics we hold dear! Here are our tips to enhance your festivities with the right organic wine bottles.
What is organic wine?
It’s wine, that much is clear. And “Bio” means life (did you know that?). In organic farming, the vines are protected with natural products and cultivated with gentle care. The work in the cellar is done with respect, guiding the natural evolution of the product to support its development. (Simply put)
Cave Guillod, which has been working organically for several years, adds the essential element that goes with organic farming: its wines are made with love.
How to choose the right organic wine for you?
There are a few basic rules to follow:
First: ask yourself, “What will accompany the wine?” This is the first instinct to have. Depending on the dishes and foods on the table, certain wines will pair better:
- For freshness and lightness, opt for a white wine or Pinot Noir.
- To complement richer dishes, choose a red wine that will bring balance.
- And if you’re unsure, know that by choosing organic, you’ve already made a great choice
Second: we’d say it’s important to follow your desires and intuition.
Which organic white wine to choose for your table?
They are best for appetizers or to pair with lighter foods, as they bring freshness to stimulate the appetite subtly.
Cave Guillod offers its Sauvignon Blanc, which pairs wonderfully with scallops, ratatouille, vegetables, and white fish. Open it 4 hours before serving and enjoy it at 11°C.
Which organic red wine to choose for your table?
To go with stronger flavors, heavier red wines will be more suitable.
The must-have is our Merlot. Ideal with beef and lamb, tofu-based dishes, and stuffed peppers, for example. Choose it in a magnum for more conviviality. Open it 8 hours before the meal and serve it at 15°C.
We wish you the holidays you truly deserve!
Enjoy these magical and special moments of sharing. And most importantly, drink organic to toast to your good health!
